Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy explains what Send to Remarkable (“we,” “us”) collects when you use the service, why, who we share it with, and what control you have over it. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than the vaguest version a lawyer would allow.
What we collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Your email address and name, via our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Your reMarkable Cloud device and session credentials, obtained when you pair your account with a one-time code. These are encrypted at rest and are never stored or logged in plain text.
- Billing information if you subscribe to a paid plan, handled directly by our payment processor (Stripe) — we do not store your card details ourselves.
When you use the forwarding service, we process:
- The email metadata (sender, subject, timestamp) and file attachments of messages sent to your dedicated forwarding address.
- A record of each document's delivery status (received, converting, delivered, or failed), kept as your account's activity history.
What we don't do
- We don't read, index, or analyze the content of your documents for any purpose beyond converting and delivering them.
- We don't sell your data, your documents, or your email address to anyone.
- We don't use your documents to train any machine learning model.
How your documents are handled
A document you send is stored temporarily — encrypted at rest — for as long as it takes to convert (if needed) and deliver it to your reMarkable account. Once delivery succeeds, the copy on our infrastructure is no longer needed for that purpose and is not retained indefinitely. The delivery record itself (that a file named X was sent at time Y with status Z) is kept as part of your account's history until you delete your account.
Who we share data with
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to run the service. Each only receives what it needs to do its specific job:
- reMarkable AS — receives the converted document when we deliver it to your paired reMarkable Cloud account. This is the entire point of the service.
- Clerk — handles authentication (sign-up, sign-in, session management).
- Stripe — handles payment processing for paid plans.
- Postmark — handles receiving your forwarded emails and sending account notifications.
- Cloudflare (R2) — stores documents temporarily during processing, encrypted at rest.
- Render — hosts the application and database infrastructure.
We do not share your information with any other third party, and we do not permit these providers to use your data for their own purposes beyond providing the service to us.
Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Delete your account from your dashboard, which removes your forwarding address, document history, and stored reMarkable pairing.
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing us.
- Revoke your reMarkable pairing independently, at any time, without deleting your account.
Children
Send to Remarkable is not directed at, and is not knowingly used by, children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and, where required, notify you directly.
